Since it’s my birthday today (at least for 25 more minutes as I write this), I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. I really enjoyed it, and it generated a blog post idea — Which Orlando Bloom do you like better:
as Legolas in the Lord of the Rings trilogy or…
as Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy?
Though I love the Legolas character, I’m going to have to go with Will Turner. He’s heroic, will do anything for his lady love, and he looks good while doing it. While Captain Jack Sparrow is very funny, I love the Will Turner character.

I thought he was HOT in LOTR… and then I saw this most recent Pirates and, oh yeah, he’s got it going on.
I wouldn’t kick either of them out of bed for eating crackers, but if I had to choose, it’d be Will Turner.

Nah, Legolas all the way. Although poor Orlando always seems to have such great competition. I mean, Aragorn in LOTR? Who could look anywhere else? Sigh. Captain Jack? How sexy can you get? Happy birthday for yesterday, Trish! May this be the year when your dreams come true.

It’s a tough choice. Legolas is so acrobatic and expressive. And just pretty.
But I go for Will, who in this third movie is All. Grown. Up. And then some.

I choose Legolas! Having cut my young teeth on the LOTR series, I had a bad thing for Elves. Orlando as Legolas was such a gratifying personification of Legolas! Of course, he had a lot of gorgeous, blond, Elven brethren as well. Much more appealing to me than the manly, but very unhygienic Aragorn. (Y’all know that that Vigo didn’t bathe for weeks when filming that, right?)
There was also quite a bit of dirt and grease in Pirates. Legolas was just so…clean.*g*

I haven’t seen POC3, so it’s hard to say, but to be honest (I hate to say it) neither really floats my boat. Can I have Aragorn instead? I mean, after he washes his hair? (g)

I go for Will. ;> I haven’t seen POC3 yet - sigh - but it’s a pirate’s….hmmm…for me! Heehee. Legolas is just too gender neutral in LOTR for me. :> But as someone else said, he has SUCH competition…Cap’n Jack. Yum. Aragorn. Yum. (And I agree about the hair washing.)

I like him as Will Turner because he doesn’t have fake blue eyes or fake blonde hair. He is the natural, talented sex symbol we love today. With his deep brown eyes and his beautiful, curly,brown hair he is hot in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
