Hubby & I are really enjoying the current day version too. I recognized Alan Tudyk as a Firefly cast mate, but I didn't realize Anna was Inara! How cool! I'm quite dismayed at what he turned out to be, though of course it was brilliant. Ryan being a good visitor shocked the heck out of me, too. I liked it! I don't know if I'll be as devoted to it as I was to the original, but then, I'm not a teenager with no social life anymore.
