The cranking on the outline continued today. Got through 10 chapters!
So, the new book currently has a tentative title of Arctic Heart, but it’s possible it’ll need to change since the book technically doesn’t take place in the Arctic (though many of us might think of all of Alaska as arctic). Thus, I need some alternative titles that would fit a YA novel about love and loss set in Alaska. It also needs to have “Heart” in it somewhere since my first book does — Heartbreak River. Any ideas?

Heartbreak Ice Floe?
Okay, maybe not.
Heart of Ice? Winter Hearts? Alaskan Heart?
It’s been so long that I got to keep my own title on something that I am at a loss for coming up with one. But I’m sure between you, your editor and smarter blog commentators than me, you’ll find something perfect!

How about Heartbreak Glacier? or Melt my polar heart?
Or I Heart Alaska. Wait that’s a T-shirt my Dad has.

In case everyone can’t figure it out, that’s my goofball husband with the goofy suggestion. Melt My Polar Heart, indeed!

Tanya, I’m picturing my heroine floating down a river on a big chunk of ice.

Hmm… I’m not so great at this stuff either–so the title has to have “heart” in it and the idea of Alaska or something Alaskan?
I’m giggling at your husband’s suggestions and now I’m completely stuck–are your characters Alaskan? Any Inuits or Eskimos by any chance?
Now I keeping thinking about defrosting freezers…
