Okay, not TV Land as in the network by that name. I’m talking about TV in general. With the writers’ strike still under way, the ol’ TiVo has been recording mainly movies and some random shows I’ve never heard of, plus, curiously, episodes of Gunsmoke. Maybe that’s because I recorded The Quick and the Dead. Hmm. Anyway, some shows are coming back on with the few episodes they were able to complete before the strike. Here’s a quick roundup:
Prison Break — So it’s incredibly far-fetched. So what. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell still have me glued to the episodes, and I can’t help rooting for Agent Mahone. I HATE what happened to the Sarah storyline because of actress Sarah Wayne Callies’ departure from the show, and I don’t know how Michael will possibly get any sort of happy ending after all he’s gone through, but I’m intensely curious how it’s all going to play out.
Smallville — If you’ve read my blog for very long, you know I love superhero stuff. No surprise I’m still watching the boy who will become Superman. I’m ready to say bye-bye to Lana now though. Her and Clark’s romance doesn’t feel real anymore, and I’m ready for the turn toward Lois to start. It’s fun to see James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) back as Brainiac though. I’ve read he also has a role in Torchwood now, but that’s on BBC America and I don’t get that channel.
Supernatural — The Winchester boys are BACK! This is my favorite show, and it came back on tonight. We got to learn a bit more about Ruby — I think she’s a cool character. I mean, Dean and Sam hunt and kill demons and she’s a demon. BUT she’s on their side. More fuel added to the “everything isn’t black and white” fire tonight when Ruby revealed a fact to Dean about her own past and the nature of demons. I think something else she revealed to him is the turning point for him in how he thinks about being doomed to die within the year. My poor Sammy, pinned to the wall AGAIN.
Stargate Atlantis — I’m excited about the potential new romance between Dr. Keller and Ronon. Plus, I just like sci-fi shows. John is still snarky, Ronon still kicks butt, and Rodney is still fantastically annoying and yet endearing.
LOST — I haven’t watched tonight’s premiere yet. Must write a guest blog post for next week instead.
Anybody out there in blogland watch these shows? What do you think of recent episodes?

Oh, I can’t wait until you get a chance to watche the premiere, so we can talk LOST when I see you later this month
I don’t watch most of those, but of course, I was glued to the TV for LOST last night and stuck around for the premiere of Eli Stone afterward, which I enjoyed–especially in the current bleak, writer’s strike landscape.

I thought about watching Eli Stone, but I really don’t need another show to watch, especially since Jericho and Survivor Micronesia will be starting soon. Then Battlestar Galactica next month.

I really enjoyed Lost and loved Eli Stone. So hurry up and watch the former! *g*
I haven’t seen last night’s Smallville yet. But James Marsters was, indeed, on last week’s Torchwood. I think it was a one shot deal, though. At least he isn’t listed on the future episodes.
Love Stargate: Atlantis and I agree re Ronon & Dr. Keller.

I did watch LOST today while eating my lunch. They do such a great job with keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. Now I’m intensely curious who the “rescuers” are and what the heck is going on.
Hope we get to see some Ronon and Keller on Atlantis tonight.

I gave up on Smallville early in the season.
I stopped watching Prison Break when Linc opened the box, but I might get it on DVD because I miss the brothers. I dreamed about Mahone last night. The actor, rather.
Lost was FABULOUS. Man, I’m loving the new twists. And CHARLIE. Oh. That’s all I’ll say.
Supernatural was well acted last night, though the show overall was only okay. A couple of great moments, though, as always. Preview for next week looks really good–Dean as demon? HOT.

Man – the only show I watch of that list is LOST, and I’m not going to comment on it because I don’t want it to be ruined for you. But I will say, I wasn’t disappointed.

Natalie and Jill, I’ve seen the LOST episode now. It was great, and it has me even more curious than ever.

What I’d like to know is why Dead Charlie is so much hotter than Alive Charlie. *g*

Tori – that cracked me up. Dead Charlie IS so much better looking : )
February 2nd, 2008 at 7:11 pm
Tori, I KNOW! I think it’s because Dead Charlie has the confidence and coolness that Alive Charlie wanted but severely lacked. When he confirmed that he was dead, I was all, “Pleasepleasepleaaaaase keep Dead Charlie coming back!” LOL
February 2nd, 2008 at 7:31 pm
LOL, you all are cracking me up about hot, dead Charlie. I still think it totally sucks that he’s dead. I kept up hope ever since last season’s finale that he wasn’t. But hey, the island fixes problems like paraplegia and infertility, maybe there’s hope for Charlie yet. Okay, I know no one else has come back, but…

Me, too, Trish. I read somewhere that someone we thought was dead wasn’t really, and I’d hoped it was Charlie, but that’s not looking good. Unless he’s not yet dead but will be later?

Completely with you on Supernatural and Prison Break. Smallville ummmmmm.. more of a Joss Whedon girl. Never seen Stargate (did it used to have McGyver in it?) but I do want to see it for Jewel Staite. And Lost.. well I have no idea what’s going on there so I’m getting the dvd’s out of the shop a few eps at a time (still confused, hah!)
