Yay! LOST won the Emmy for Best Drama Series tonight. And it premieres for its second season in three days. Yippie!
You know, since being a Golden Heart finalist and winner, all these awards shows remind me of the GH/RITA ceremony at the National Conference each year. I know what those nerves feel like, what the disappointment feels like and what the elation of winning feels like. And how cool it is to really dress up in the finery for that one special night. The GH/RITA doesn’t get shown on television, but it’s still a very exciting experience for those of us in the romance-writing industry.
So, who do you think had the prettiest dress tonight? I liked Eva Langoria’s and Sela Ward’s.

YAY, Lost!!! I didn’t watch, though. Sela Ward is just stunning. She’d look good in a gunny sack.

True. I forgot to mention I liked Felicity Huffman’s dress, and her thanks to her husband, actor William F. Macy, was so sweet.

Once again, I missed the Emmys. : (
Thrilled that LOST, and I can’t wait for its return.
I also really like that William Shatner won. But he’ll always be Captain Kirk to me.

I missed the Emmy’s too. I have the complete first season of LOST on my Netflix Queue. I wanted to watch it before the season premiered but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen. Seems LOST is on the long wait list.

I’m really looking forward to the premiere tomorrow night too.

I know what you mean about the awards show feeling. I totally flashed back to GH night. I’m always impressed by the people who smile and clap politely for the winner of their category. I’m so glad they don’t have cameras on the audience during the GH. Not that I didn’t smile and clap and all that — but everyone likes to win, right??
And Trish, you looked Emmy-worthy yourself that night, BTW. Good gala hair…

Thanks, Heather! It’s the only time I dress up like that. Heck, it’s about the only time I put on full makeup. I’m sitting here now in a ratty T-shirt, shorts, barefoot, not a speck of makeup or hair product.
You looked great on GH night too. I loved your dress.
