Season 16 of Survivor, Survivor Micronesia, started this week, with 10 super fans of the show taking on 10 favorites from past seasons (though how Eliza and Johnny Fairplay ended up being favorites, I don’t know). I find myself rooting for specific people on both teams. On the Favorites team, Ozzy, one of my all-time favorite players, is back. There’s also James and Amanda from the just-completed Survivor China. On the Fans team, an early favorite is Joel, the firefighter from Phoenix, and Eric, the college student from Michigan. Is it just me, or does Eric look like Leif Garrett? :)

Who would have predicted Johnny Fairplay would be the first to go, and largely of his own choosing? I have to wonder if it’s another play, perhaps this time trying to salvage his reputation.

Anyone else watching this season? Do you have any early faves?

Don’t forget — today is the last day to get yourself in the running for this week’s free book giveaway. All you have to do is comment on one or more of this week’s blog posts. I’ll post the winner in the morning to give everyone in all time zones an equal chance to comment today.

You know I’m watching Survivor. *g* I found the ending of this episode really anti-climatic, though. It would have been more fun if Jonny Fairplay had stuck around longer. I don’t like him, but he did provide a lot of amusement. *g*

It was anti-climatic. But up until the very end, I kept thinking Johnny was making a play of some sort and everyone would be caught off guard when they shouldn’t have been.

Nope, I hven’t watched the last two. Not sure if it conflicting schedule, but even my son who is a huge fan hasn’t been interested.

Teri, I stopped watching the Fiji season (two seasons ago) because it was such a snore. As evidence, the only person back from that season, I believe, is Yau-Man. The China season (last season), however, was really good, one of the best in a long time.
