No secret I’ve gotten addicted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel in the past week. Two of the best books I’ve read in the past year are J.R. Ward’s Dark Lover and Lover Eternal. I really enjoyed the movies Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, even liked Queen of the Damned with Stuart Townsend as Anne Rice’s vampire Lestat. Having heard great things about several other book series, I’ve just requested three novels from the library:
Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton (first in the Anita Blake series)
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
Dark Prince by Christine Feehan (first of the Carpathians, I believe; first in the Dark series)
It’s still several months away from release (January 2007), but I’m also looking forward to buddy Colleen Gleason’s The Rest Falls Away, the first in her Gardella Legacy series and described as Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Pride and Prejudice.
Oh, and I’m currently listening to the hard rock soundtrack to Underworld: Evolution.
And because there can never be too many pictures of Angel…

Hey, Trish…thanks for the plug. I appreciate it!
And, yes, I agree with you on Angel…but just wait until you get to SPIKE.

I can’t wait to see how you respond to Riley and Spike

I’m already dreading the Riley thing. At least Spike is funny, but I have a feeling I’ll be a die-hard Angel fan throughout.
Bought the Angel soundtrack today — very good!

Colleen, your book sounds wonderful!
Trish, I in many ways remained an Angel fan throughout (in that I think ultimately, years down the road, that’s the person Buffy could be with long term and be happy). But that didn’t stop me, fickle girl that I am, from LOVING the scenes between her and Spike and the whole different emotional and even sexual complexity of their relationship. Riley was likable in his way. I’m not one of the people who loathe him, but I never saw it working out long term between him and Buffy!

I’ve just stumpled across your blog, thanks for the book recommendations - they are exactly the sort of books I love.
