I believe it was last year when fellow young adult writer Heather Davis finaled in the Golden Heart and had to pick her photo to be used during the awards ceremony that she asked for feedback on her blog regarding which photo to use. Now, I’m doing the same. I had the hubby take a bunch of pictures of me today in different outfits at various points around our yard. Now I need help deciding which photo to use.
Of the photos below, which of the orange ones do you like best? Then which of the black ones? And finally, which picture do you like best overall? Thanks a million!

Overall, Black 1 - you look very sexy and smart!
Great photos, Trish - they’re actually ALL really good, so any of them will look fabulous, blown up to Jumbotron size. LOL!

I like Orange 3!!
You look fabulous in all of them, but I particularly like the orange series.
I do also like Orange 1.

I can’t decide with the orange ones. Maybe 1. But then I love the smile in 2. Three is just so cool. Okay, 3 is my favorite. Maybe.
Black– well, 1 is slightly sultry. A great look. But 2 is not only a touch sultry but also looks like you’re just about to tell an intriguing secret. So it’s my favorite.

Orange 2, Black 2. Orange 2 is my favorite, especially for a YA author. You look friendly and approachable and fun. The shots of you in black are gorgeous, too, but have a very different feel to me - more formal, a little more reserved.
But I agree that ALL are quite worthy of use!

Orange 2 or Black 2, tho they’re all good. The orange is a bit violent, tho and seems to be wearing you rather than the other way round, so I’d suggest photoshopping the Orange 2 outfit into black, the best of both worlds.

Wow, this is the most comments I’ve ever had on an individual post. Maybe I should post photos of myself all the time. LOL! Seriously, thanks for all the comments. It’s particularly interesting that different ones are better for the different subgenres (YA versus adult books).

Orange 2 overall. All of them have nice colors and composition; your skin/hair/tones look great. V. flattering. And realistic! Any of these you pick won’t make anyone point and snicker, not when they see the pic and not when they meet you in person. And isn’t that what we want to avoid??
Okay, maybe that’s just me.
